I was preparing the playroom/my office so I could run the carpet cleaner around. I employed Alex's assistance in said preparation. I present the following conversation as proof the addling of my brain has roots in the behaviors of my children:
Me: Ok buddy, we have to pick up everything off the floor.
Alex: Everything? Like even the ottoman?
Me: What ottoman?
Alex: The ottoman.
Me: What ottoman? There isn't an ottoman down here.
Alex: This ottoman!! The one I'm SITTING on!
Me: Dude, that's a futon.
Alex: Oh. Tomato, tomahto.
